Thanks to Stephen Brown for these photo's of the USS Impervious MSO-449

Impervious taking heavy seas off the bow underway for North Vietnam and OPERATION END SWEEP.

QM1 David Scott and our captain, LCDR "Iron Mike" Reynolds, at the navigation table while sweeping Haiphong.

LCDR Reynolds. If ever there was a Navy man to take a crew into hell and get 'em back, Iron Mike was your sailor.

The crew resting on the fo'c'sle after getting the gear wet.

BM1 Thompson. A sailor's sailor, it became a privilege to have him as my conning officer when on watch.
I learned a lot from this man.

QM1 David Scott and RD1 Mike Crone. The Navy promoted Dave to QMC. Reliable, professional and an excellent leader, Mike should have been a lieutenant department head aboard a destroyer.

In a most unique ceremony, an EN2 (sorry, but I forget his name) ships over for six. He's sitting on a pig being towed as Captain Reynolds administers the oath. The flag is our "breakaway" pennant used during unreps. It had Mickey Mouse on it waiving the peace sign.

Different photo angle of the shipping over.

The crew in the Wherry boat suckin' on some suds celebrating the day we finished OPERATION END SWEEP. Someone really understood the need for prior planning to have three cases of San Miguel for the event. This was an "authorized conspiracy", as Capatain Reynolds and our exec, Ltjg Charlie Wilson are in the Wherry carring on smartly, cold ones in hand.
