Hello Shipmates,
I am winding down my Naval career after 24 years at the rank of Captain as a TAR. I was X.O. of the Impervious from DEC 89 to May 91. Did the whole ODS/S heavy lift and deployment under LCDR Steve Bradley and LCDR Dave Jackson as the C.O.'s. Fond memories of the old Impervious, have run into LT(jg) Dale Fleck and hear from LT Tom Norton once in a while, but if you you were on the ship during that deployment I would love to hear from you. Take care, fair winds and following seas.

Great site.
I served on MSO-510, USS Advance 1959-1961.
I went to the website 102 Minesweepers and almost cried when I saw that the Advance was in private hands. When I looked at the photos and saw what a mess she was in, I wished she had been scrapped.
Again, good work on this web site.

I was the PN1/DK/Mailman onboard Impervious from April 1972 until arrival in Mayport FL 1974. Remember the Typhoon we rode out during Operation Endsweep. Everytime we pulled out of Guam the CO and XO would lock themselves in their state rooms and keep their head in the Barf Bag. I had the opportunity to tvisit Commander Lloyd Bucher before he passed away. Crazy ship but was fun. If anyone is still around, email me an refresh my mind :.}

I was on the USS Impervious from 1965 to about June 1966. I was a boatswain mate seaman. I was injured on February 8, 1966 on the way from San Diego to Hawaii during a typhoon. I was thrown out of the top bunk and hit my head on a floor hatch. I was on the ship during our first patrols off Vietnam and helped us search and sink some junks. I was sent off the ship to the USS Epping Forest MCS 7, Sasebo Japan because of problems due to the head injury. I am still having roblems due to the head injury today. I have a non-paying disability from from the V.A.

My dad served on board the USS Impervious for a number of years, he was an SK. He earned the ships first Battle "E" for supply. I would love to hear from someone that was on this ship in the early 80's so he may talk to some of his old shipmates again. So please if you might recognize the last name Hann, please email me so I can let my dad know.
